Mark dealt with Barking, Jumping up, Pulling

Thank you for helping us to be better leaders for our dog. We took away some awesome tools to help on our journey. He seems to be responding well already. Ngā mihi

Trainer note from Mark
Breeze is a large teenage 11mth American Akita, Great temperament but difficult to get his focus or walk, he's starting barking and guarding his territory lately too. Has some separation anxiety. He responded well and the owners also took on board what they may have been encouraging Breeze to do with out knowing it. We'll hear from them shortly with an update

Mark dealt with Other

We recently adopted a 3month old springer spaniel and had no idea what we got ourselves into, we searched Murihiku (Southland or Tail end of the land) for a trainer to help us get started and we found Mark from Bark Busters NZ. His communication with us from first contact was impeccable and we knew we wanted to work with BBNZ because of that. Great communication and prompt. Rusty the Springer Spaniel reacted so well to our first meeting with Mark, all three of us were taught some great things, and we are putting them in place. Feeding time is now my favourite time of the day where rusty sits and waits to be told "free" Its eating time buddy. We recommend Bark Busters and we are only a week out from our first session already seeing huge improvements, we are looking forward to a refresher in a few weeks. To learn new things as a pack!

- T.T, Bluff Southland (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
Rusty is a rehome to these owners as he was too much of a handful for his previous elderly owners. At 3mths old he was too busty and unfocussed for them. Now his forever home is a younger couple but no dog knowledge so they've called Bark Busters in early to get it right before it goes all wrong. We covered the basics of sit stay , on your bed , off the couch , jumping up , recall ,leadwork and off lead recall all in the first lesson. Great progress already but being young the lifetime support will be needed for Rusty

Mark dealt with Jumping up, Pulling, Puppy management, Separation anxiety

It has only been a few days since Mark came to see us, and the changes have been instant. Mark explained our 5months old puppy’s behaviour and gave us valuable management strategies to correct behaviour and to more importantly reassure our anxious little girl. While there is still work to do, we feel a lot more comfortable and doing an early intervention like this will no doubt save us plenty of trouble later on.

Trainer note from Mark
Lyra is a 6mth old Swiss Shepherd with anxious issues involving bikes , people moving past, jumped a lot , nippy whilst doing so and barked at the doors etc, people etc. She is soft natured timid dog and far to clever over thinking things a bit much. Both the owners and lyra responded well to the training and given tools to utilize so Lyra can relax and focus better. Being young she's still a work in progress but good steps forward already. Nice work team

Mark dealt with Barking, Jumping up

Mark taught us a completely different way of how to let our dog know what kind of behavior is acceptable or not acceptable. He is also learning that he is not the boss! Having recently moved to a retirement village villa we needed Guiness to be better behaved es[pecially around barking issues.

- P.S, Kaiapoi (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
Guiness is a 4yr old Spoodle , not a bad dog just needed some readjusting in various behaviours , ie: Barking at all he sees, jumping up, attention seeking and recall, he already walks ok . all the household responded well including the other dog an 11yr old . Happy to revisit anytime . Great work guys and Gals.

Mark dealt with Aggression, Barking, Pulling

Mark from Bark Busters provided heaps of reading to get is started before we even met him, which was very informative .He spent quite a long time with us initially which was great so we developed a trust his methods were the way forward for our very reactive rescue young huntaway girl .We've had good improvement walking on the lead and reactivity towards wheels on prams etc has lessened a lot .Reactivity towards dogs when she's on lead is still huge and we're practicing our exercises hoping for gradual improvement with time. It's been very stressful for us, we're in our 60's so definitely don't handle the aggression well, Especially the pulling and lunging at dogs .We've had 2 sessions so far, we may need a few more to gain confidence in dealing with the reactivity and recall training to follow. Overall ,a good start with Mark, he's very professional and kind.

- M.H, Linwood ,Christchurch (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
Molly is a large , strong Huntaway rescue with very little previous life skills . Pretty much not taught anything prior to the new owners and potentially never been out of her yard before. Her lack of social skills are a problem for out and about meetings with dogs especially on lead. All the other issues which were quite a few are rectifying as the owners apply the techniques of good communication and consistency. We will be doing more sessions to get ahead with her very intense reaction to other dogs. Improvements already though. Great work guys . See you again soon. All part of the Bark Busters lifetime support guarantee.

Mark dealt with Barking, Pulling, Puppy management, Recall

Mark from South Island Bark Busters is phenomenal! He’s patient but takes no S**t ! I already feel so much more confident (and supported) from just our first session. I personally think one-on-one training is so much more effective so I’m stoked to have been referred by a friend to Mark for my anxious growing Boxer Rocco.

- M.F, Heathcote ,Christchurch, Canterbury (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
I was called in for Rocco a 5 mth old boxer , cute as but a nervous of strangers dog . the usual puppy problems but was already barking at the gate and anxious of certain people. We worked through the basics of teaching how dogs do actually think and develop his confidence in new people. Great session and we'll do a revisit shortly to check on progress and take more steps in his progress. Great work so far, well done.

Mark dealt with Barking, Hyperactivity, Jumping up, Pulling, Puppy management, Recall, Separation anxiety

Mark was amazing at explaining everything, reasoning why we needed to change and how. We were totally shocked at how quickly our dog has responded and the improvement in the first couple of days has been awesome. Originally called Mark for an incident involving our Beefy a Staffordshire Bull Terrier getting very dominant and over baring with another dog. Council involved.

- B.B, Stoke ,Nelson (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
Beefy is a great, as bit too much fun loving temperament 21mth old Staffy , unfortunately he's been getting more reactive with other dogs , causing an incident that needed addressing, hyperexcited with all the guests, pulled a bit , jumped up lots , and just being hard to refocus for the owners. Once we started working the programming exercises and setting up the specific problems Beefy certainly responded as he's not actually very dominant , but had let gain control over a period of time . From barker to sitting and waiting at the door. Great lesson and really nice to see the owners acknowledging how to genuinely be a good dog leader in a nice way. Well done team Beefy

Mark dealt with Barking, Jumping up, Pulling, Sibling rivalry

Mark was amazing ,we saw a change in our dogs behaviour with in the first hour. We can now cook in the kitchen without tripping over dogs, and food staying on the bench . Walking the dogs has become so much better. Indy is less stressed when cars passing her while out walking.

- S.N, Doyleston, Canterbury (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
Indy 8 mths & Bonnie 2yrs old are Border Collies , both with totally different temperaments. Called in for Indy initially due to her chasing of cars , absolutely losing it when they pass by her walking , sibling rivalry was starting to also appear in the household , with both dogs in control in different ways. Living Semi rural. Both were Pullers , barkers , Jumping , recall and issue etc as well. Our initial lesson went well and focus starting to be instilled in Indy , Bonnie was easier as she is slightly more mature. Still a work in progress for the cars but huge significant improvements already. Fantastic work guys and call for a revisit soon. All under our unique lifetime support guarantee for the dogs.

Mark dealt with Chewing, Hyperactivity, Jumping up, Pulling, Puppy management, Recall, Toileting

We had Mark in to help us with our 12 week old dachshund puppy, Poppy. Having never trained a dog we didn’t know where to start. Mark put us at ease straight away. He had a really lovely manner with Poppy, and our kids. The training was explained really thoroughly. Whilst different to what we’d previously been told by family etc, this new form of training makes so much sense and is very logical to follow. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mark to anyone. Looking forward to putting it all to practice. Poppy seems to respond beautifully.

- D.P, Chriatchurch (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Mark
Lovely family and wee poppy a gem. As the family haven't had a dog before ,getting it right for them was important and vital for Poppies life skills, letting them do the training under our guidance and coaching so they can develop the skills easily and calmly. This was the 1st of several sessions as Poppy grows. Great work guys , see you again soon. Id number 132227 lesson session 65269

Mark was great, noticed a difference straight away. Has stopped pulling on the lead and work in progress to stop her jumping up.

Trainer note from Mark
Roxy the 14mth old Sprollie, Springer Spaniel x Border Collie. Her issues were Dog reactive , Lunging at things passing , barking , jumping , recall, and had bitten the owners. Teaching the speak dog to teach dog techniques she responded very quickly , even let dogs walk by , focussing exercises will be important to settle and refocus this extremely active dog. Next session soon to sort the fine tuning. Awesome work guys.
